NEW FOR 2015:
-New model
Volvo's crossover family grows by one for 2015 with the addition of the V60 Cross Country; as the name suggests, it's a V60 wagon with a raised suspension and styling cues that aim to link it to the brand's other crossovers. Our guess is that this car will eventually replace the XC70, which is based on the last-generation Volvo wagon platform.
Interestingly, while Volvo has installed its new Drive-E four-cylinder engines into the rest of the model range, the V60 gets just one engine, a turbocharged five-cylinder. That both makes sense, and doesn't all at once: the Drive-E cars are all FWD, but if there's a FWD XC60 and XC90, why not do the same here? We'd suggest watching for Volvo to add a V60 Cross Country model in FWD Drive-E form for 2016.
For now, however, all V60 Cross Country models are five-cylinders and AWD, with a six-speed automatic transmission.
Trim levels include a base model, as well as Premier, Premier Plus and Platinum versions.
Standard kit in base models includes an electric parking brake, intelligent driver information system, security system, hill descent control, power locks with locking fuel filler, rear park assist, outside temperature gauge, heated side mirrors, puddle lights, sunroof, roof rails, rain sensing wipers, side scuff plates, touring chassis, black fender extensions, cruise control, dual-zone climate control, heated front seats, eight-way power front seats with lumbar and driver memory, power-folding rear headrests, leather-trimmed shifter and steering wheel, tilt-and-telescopic steering, textile floor mats, trip computer, Volvo Sensus with seven-inch colour display, 60/40 split folding rear seat, eight-speaker 160-watt stereo with auxiliary and USB inputs, Bluetooth with streaming audio, satellite radio and T-tec seating surfaces.
Premier trim adds keyless drive with personal car communicator, bright side window trim, adaptive TFT digital gauge cluster, auto-dimming rearview mirror, and leather seats.
Premier Plus models include a garage door opener, power-folding side mirrors, backup camera, compass, grocery bag holder, 12-volt power outlet in cargo area, and map care with two free navigation updates.
The Platinum trim rounds out the line, adding auto-dimming side mirrors, accent lighting, premium stereo, and navigation.
